Do you begin your day with a piping hot cup of something – coffee, tea, cocoa? Do you take a few quiet moments to savor its flavor and warmth? Are you able to sit in a place that warms your heart and lean into the wonder of the peace you are feeling? I hope so!
Can the Way You Start Your Day Make a Difference?
Perhaps! Try this. Find a place where can you savor your favorite beverage in silence each morning. Claim that spot for a peace-filled start to your day. Whether outside on a porch or inside nestled in a cozy chair, give yourself 10 minutes of peace and quiet. Look around for something to catch your eye that makes you smile. Breathe in the deep sense of wonder at the peace and joy of this moment. Carry that feeling with you all day.
As you slip into bed at night, notice how your day unfolded. Did starting your day connected with a sense of peace and joy seem to align the rest the day into a surprisingly manageable order? If so, fall asleep with gratitude in your heart.
If not, notice what derailed you. This is something that needs your attention and now that you are aware, you can decide how you want to address it. Fall asleep with gratitude in your heart.
