Settling Your Energy Is the First Step
Tuning into your heart by taking time to STOP, LOOK, and LISTEN opens you to the truth of who you are, to what stirs your soul. It is a simple process but the depth of the experience can be profound. When you stop what you are doing to clear your mind and settle your energy, you invite your mind to move from a flurry of thoughts to a quiet, calm, relaxed focus.
You can do this in the moment by stopping what you are doing and focusing on your breath as you inhale and exhale. Or you can take a walk and focus on the rhythm of your steps, or the pace of your stride, or the sound of your footsteps upon pavement or ground. You can also sit by a tree or garden and bring your attention to the movement of the air through the leaves on the trees, or swaying the bed of flowers, or whatever catches your eye.
These actions engage your body, your senses, and shift your attention away from a jumble of thoughts pulling you in different directions. They help you get out of your head and prepare you to calmly and lovingly tune into your heart.
Tuning Into Your Heart Is Step Two
Tuning into your heart means you have an interest in hearing what your heart has to say! It means you intend to listen with the expectation of following the wisdom that surfaces. Once you settle your energy, invite a deeper connection with the love in your heart. As you focus on the word love, let a feeling of love rise in you. This gives you access to wisdom from meaningful experiences in your life that are embedded physically in your body, recorded emotionally in your memory, and processed spiritually in your heart – in other words, embodied in you!
Your life experiences, along with the genetics of your gender, contain wisdom you can see and feel. This wisdom surfaces through physical sensations, emotional reactions, clarity of thought, and synchronicities that signal you are on the right track. However, these signals relate to you personally through your story, your journey. They are uniquely tailored to mean something to you, to guide you in what’s best for you. That’s what makes taking time to STOP, LOOK, and LISTEN to what’s in your heart so valuable.
Each time you weigh in, discern what is true for you, and lovingly move in that direction, you grow closer to being your true self. This honors the divine design of who you are and why you are here. No one else has your particular insight. You are a divinely designed puzzle piece in the divine jigsaw puzzle of life!
Embodying What Stirs Your Soul Is Step Three
A popular saying is to “dance like nobody’s watching”. However, the truth is, everybody is watching! Your every action and interaction embody your vision of who you are and what you believe. The more you seek to know your true self, to trust what you know in your heart is true for you, and to make choices aligned with that, the more authentic and joy-filled your life becomes. When you try to hide your whole self by only showing the parts you think others will like, it makes it difficult for you and others to see where your puzzle piece fits in the divine design.
Those parts of yourself that make you unique and distinctive are what you have to offer the world. A life honed through living one’s truth and offered through conscious awareness of one’s talents is inspiring, uplifting, a joy to behold. Like the dancer in the picture, when you embody what stirs your soul, the true wonder of your divine design radiates.
